Trauma Registry Analytics
5-Lecture Video Series — Slide Decks
About This Series
These slide decks accompany the Trauma Registry and Other Topics blog series at Data InDeed.
This series is different from the statistics and design series. It sits at the intersection of registry practice, applied modeling, and operational governance. Every lecture is grounded in the real constraints of working with DoDTR-style data: messy, hierarchical, rare-outcome, and high-stakes.
Lecture Schedule
| # | Title | Posts | Slides | ~Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | Registry Foundations: Why Models Fail & How to Analyze Honestly | 01 · 02 · 05 | ✅ | 50 min |
| 02 | Modeling Philosophy: Bayesian, Beyond p-Values & Hierarchical | 03 · 06 · 07 | ✅ | 50 min |
| 03 | Missing Data Deep Dive: Strategies, Hierarchy & MNAR | 04 · 14 · 15 | ✅ | 55 min |
| 04 | Prediction & Rare Outcomes: Causation Confusion & Evaluation Under Imbalance | 08 · 09 · 11 | ✅ | 50 min |
| 05 | Production & Governance: CDS Design, Calibration Drift & Bayesian Audit Trails | 10 · 12 · 13 | ✅ | 50 min |
Recommended Sequence
This series can be taken alongside or after the statistics series. It assumes working familiarity with regression and basic R. The Advanced Statistics series (particularly missing data and causal inference lectures) is complementary but not required.
Instructor Resource
The Master Speaker Notes provide lecture-by-lecture teaching guidance: key talking points, timing recommendations, discussion prompts, and common student questions — organized by slide section.
